Donghua University

Donghua University (DHU) is one of the National Key Universities directly under the Ministry of Education (MoE) of China and enlisted in China's Project 211 (the top 100 universities selected by the MoE in 1995 as national priority universities for the 21st century) and “Double First-Class University Plan” (most recently announced by the Chinese Government in October 2017, to develop a group of elite Chinese universities and individual university departments to world standard disciplinary, high-level institution with a focus on textile, material, as well as design. DHU is surging towards the goal of building “a high-level research university with domestic first-class, international influence and characteristics.” Located in Shanghai, DHU has three campuses: Sonqjiang Campus, Yan'an Road Campus and Xinhua Road Campus, covering an area of nearly 2,000 mu (approximately l,333,333 m²) with an overall floorage of over 830,000 m². Guided by XiJinping’s Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era, DHU upholds the guiding principle of socialism, fully implements the educational policy of CPC, takes moral education as the root, and actively carries out talents training, scientific research, social service, cutural heritage and innovation, international cooperation and exchange, thus contributing to the development of the city of Shanghai, of the whole country and of the industry itself.

As far as education to international students and foreigners in China is concerned, International Cultural Exchange school(ICES) of  Donghua University (DHU) devotes itself to the promotion of  international exchanges as well as the cultivation of international  talents who are familiar with Chinese culture and keen on committing  themselves to the mutual development around the world.

Following  student-oriented service philosophy all the time, ICES actively  introduce high-leveled teachers and management personnel, equip with  advanced teaching facilities, implement strict quality control  management, and strive to become a top international school with an  open, passionate, and energetic organizational culture.

The university vigorously promotes the opening up of education in the new era, actively dovetails with the important national initiative of "One Belt and One Road", and unites 35 textile universities in 18 countries to establish the "One Belt and One Road" World Textile University Consortium, and establishes good cooperation with more than 150 foreign universities around the world. It has established good cooperation relationship with more than 150 foreign universities. The Confucius Institute of Moi University was established in Moi University, Kenya, which is the first Confucius Institute of Moi University with textile and garment characteristics in the world. Cooperated with Edinburgh University to establish the Shanghai International Institute of Fashion and Creativity of Donghua University to cultivate international first-class fashion and creative talents.
