Dalian Vocational and Technical College is an institution of higher learning directly under the Dalian Municipal People's Government and one of the 100 "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges" in the country. In 2018, the school successfully ranked among the high-level modern higher vocational colleges and high-level characteristic professional group project construction units in Liaoning Province. In February 2019, the municipal party committee and government decided to optimize the integration between Dalian Vocational and Technical College and Dalian Radio and Television University.

The school has four campuses: Xiajiahezi, Nanguanling, Puwan and Baiyun. There are three secondary technical secondary schools affiliated to Dalian Electronic School, Dalian Construction School and Dalian Ocean School.
