

School of Computer Science establishes three undergraduate majors, namely, Computer Science and Technology, Network Engineering and Internet of Things Engineering. The orientation for the majors is clear, and the cultivation mode is advanced, and the international advanced engineering education mode is implemented. Based on TOPCARES integrated talent training mode, an integrated theoretical practice teaching and quality education system is designed. The mixed teaching method is adopted to cultivate applied senior professionals with engineering practice ability, innovation and entrepreneurship ability and autonomous learning ability.
Dalian Neusoft University of Information (DNUI) is a private university founded by Neusoft with the Ministry of Education’s approval. DNUI, with a strong focus on engineering, offers a number of disciplines including engineering, management, arts, foreign languages and healthcare technology. The campus is located in Dalian, a beautiful coastal city in Northeastern China. Situated at the core area of Dalian Software Park, it covers an area of 833,000 square meters (more than 1,200 acres) and has a total construction area of 417,000 square meters. There are more than 16,000 full-time students and 1,100 faculty members. Based on the continuous and rapid development of China’s IT industry, the school closely seizes market opportunities, aims at the forefront of industry development, focuses on the “pan-IT + health and medical technology” field, and has built five advantageous major clusters, namely, computer and software, intelligence and electronics, digital media and design, information and business management, and health and medical technology, and has set up School of Computer Science, School of Software, School of Information and Business Management, School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering, School of Digital Arts and Design, School of Foreign Languages, School of Healthcare Technology, School of Higher Vocational Technology, School of International Education and School of Continuing Education. There are 14 schools, with 34 undergraduate majors and 7 junior college majors. At the school-running level, DNUI provides predominantly undergraduate education and complementally higher vocational education. Additionally, DNUI also provides postgraduates education, continuing education and international students education.
At the beginning of its establishment in 2000, the school has made clear the application-oriented orientation of serving the industry and regional economic development. In the past 20 years, Based on the concept of “Education Creates Students’ Value”, closely relying on the IT service advantages of Neusoft and the industrial advantages of Dalian High Tech Zone, the school has built an application-oriented school running system of integration of industry and education, formed the operation mechanism of school enterprise cooperation and win-win cooperation, creatively proposed and implemented integrated talent training mode of TOPCARES in the whole school, and realized the complementary docking of talent cultivation and industrial demand and enterprise needs. At present, the school has delivered more than 50,000 IT application-oriented talents to the society, and the employment rate has been above 90% over the years. The quality of talent training has been widely recognized by employers and all walks of life. According to the survey of Mycos in 2019, the monthly income after six months of graduation for the class of 2018 is 5, 379 yuan, 446 yuan higher than that of non-211 universities in China; meanwhile, the proportion of self-employed graduates of 2018 is 3.9%, two percentage points higher than that of non-211 universities and 2.9 percentage points higher than that of 211 universities in China. In 2015, the school became one of the first 10 pilot universities to transform to be an application-oriented one in Liaoning Province, and in 2017, the school became one of the first 10 demonstration universities in Liaoning Province to transform to be an application-oriented one.
Since its establishment, the school has won 41 teaching achievement awards at or above the provincial level, including 1 first prize of national teaching achievement and 1 special award of provincial teaching achievement in 2005, 1 second prize of national teaching achievement and 2 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement in 2009, 4 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement in 2013, 1 second prize of national teaching achievement and 3 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement in 2018 (including 1 third completion unit). Among the existing undergraduate majors, the university has 1 national undergraduate comprehensive reform pilot discipline, 9 provincial first-class undergraduate education demonstration disciplines, 4 provincial comprehensive reform pilot disciplines, 2 provincial first batch of advantageous characteristic disciplines, 4 provincial engineering talent training mode reform pilot disciplines, 2 provincial key support disciplines, 1 provincial first batch of applied oriented pilot disciplines, 3 provincial first batch of application-oriented demonstration disciplines, 1 undergraduate course system internationalization pilot discipline and 5 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot majors. In the selection of the first batch of national “double ten thousand plan” in 2019, the university has 9 disciplines selected, including 3 national first-class undergraduate discipline construction sites and 6 provincial-level first-class undergraduate discipline construction sites. The number of the first batch of national and provincial-level first-class undergraduate discipline construction sites ranks first in China’s private colleges and universities. In the comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate disciplines conducted by Liaoning Province for undergraduate colleges and universities from 2012 to 2014, 7 of the 11 disciplines participated in the evaluation were in the top 3 of the province. In the national third-party university evaluation and consulting agency, Ireshen Alumni Association Network (Cuaa.Net), in the newly released list of China’s first-class disciplines in 2020, China’s first-class professional rankings of private universities in 2020 and China's best professional rankings in 2020, the University’s Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, and Digital Media Technology have won China’s six-star disciplines and ranked among China’s top disciplines in 2020. Network Engineering, Internet of Things Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Film and Television Photography and Production won China’s five-star disciplines, and ranked among the first-class majors in China in 2020. Among them, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Digital Media Technology, Logistics Engineering, Film and Television Photography and Production are ranked first among private universities in China.
Born with industrial gene and innovation consciousness, the university took the lead in establishing Student Office & Venture Office (SOVO) in 2002, which has registered its trademark in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. The school has built a three-level progressive innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform, created a four in one innovation and entrepreneurship cultural environment of policy, system, behavior and environment, and realized the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education with professional education, humanistic quality education and ideological and political education. Since its establishment, SOVO has incubated more than 4000 innovation and entrepreneurship projects, set up more than 380 student virtual companies, of which 110 have been registered as entity companies, and more than 80,000 students have participated in various innovation and entrepreneurship activities. The University adheres to open education and international cooperation. At present, it has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 foreign universities, including the University of Queensland in Australia, the University of South Australia, San Jose State University in the United States, Monteclair University, Loughborough University in the UK, Nagoya University of Technology in Japan, Konkuk University of Korea, and Moscow Transportation University of Russia, and has carried out long and short-term studying abroad, internship and employment abroad, long and short-term study in China and other cooperation. Every year, there are more than 300 long and short-term international students and about 200 students studying abroad or attending short-term exchange programs.
Dalian Neusoft University of Information(DNUI) is a private university founded by Neusoft with the Ministry ofEducation’s approval. The School of International Education (SIE) at Dalian Neusoft University of Information is responsible for planning and implementing university’s international engagement. SIE offers non-degree education for overseas students. Currently, international students mainly come from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and the USA. SIE offers foundation Chinese language courses for students planning to study degree courses taught in Chinese, long-term/short-term Language & Culture programs, and etc. In 2012, DNUI became the first HSK online test center in Dalian authorized by Hanban (National Chinese Language Office). So far, more than 1,700 international students have participated in long-term/short-term Language & Culture programs in DNUI.
