Chongqing Vocational College of Information Technology

Chongqing Vocational College of Information Technology is located in Chongqing, China. It is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and filed with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a national institution for training urgently needed skilled talents in computer and software technology, a Chongqing Model Software College, a Chongqing software talent training base, a Chongqing notebook computer base talent training institution, a Chongqing high-skilled talent training base, and a Chongqing aesthetic education experimental school.

In 1995, the predecessor of the school, Wanxian City Computer School, was established. In 1998, with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, Chongqing Institute of Electronic Engineering merged with Wanxian Computer School to establish Chongqing Institute of Electronic Engineering (Specialized). In 2001, the school was upgraded to Chongqing Vocational College of Information Technology . In 2004, the school was named by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information Industry as a "Vocational College for training urgently needed skilled talents in Computer Application and Software Technology", and became a "Chongqing Municipal Model Software Vocational and Technical College". In 2017, the school was designated as an "Experimental School for Aesthetic Education Reform and Development in Chongqing's Higher Education Institutions".

As of December 2024, the total area of the school is 869.2 mu. The value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 60.7019 million yuan. The library has 725,100 volumes of paper books and 367,600 volumes of electronic books. There are 908 full-time teachers and 14,185 students on campus. As of May 2025, the school has 10 secondary colleges and offers over 40 junior college programs.
