

Chongqing College of Architecture and Engineering (Chongqing Jianzhu College) was founded in 1956. It is a public full-time institution for general higher and vocational education in architecture, operated by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, integrating regular higher vocational education, adult higher education, industry skill training, and engineering quality testing.
The school’s predecessors were the Chongqing Urban Construction Engineering School, founded in 1956, and the Chongqing City Construction Staff College, founded in 1982. After these two institutions merged and reorganized, the college was upgraded and officially renamed Chongqing College of Architecture and Engineering in 2007. In 2017, it was selected as a key construction unit among Chongqing's high-quality higher vocational colleges. Since 2019, the college has jointly launched the "3+2 Undergraduate Program" in collaboration with Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.
As of May 2025, the college covers an area of more than 900 mu and has two campuses: the Guangyang Campus and the East Station Campus. The library holds over 920,000 printed books and more than 460,000 electronic books. It comprises 14 schools (teaching departments) with over 700 faculty and staff members and more than 12,800 students.
