Changchun University is located in Changchun, Jilin Province, known as the "Spring city in the North". It is a provincial comprehensive university with profound heritage and distinctive characteristics.

The former Changchun Industrial Accounting and Statistics School was founded in 1949 by the former Ministry of Industry of the Northeast People's Government. It trained the first batch of industrial accounting and statistics talents for new China. In the process of national development and times change, the school changed its name several times and was renamed Jilin Mechanical and Electrical College in 1983. 1987 With the approval of the former National Education Commission, the former Jilin University of Science and Technology, Jilin Mechanical and Electrical College, Changchun Foreign Language College, and Changchun Vocational University were merged to form Changchun University.
