Beijing Art and Media Vocational College

Beijing Art and Media Vocational College and its predecessor were founded in 1994. It is a comprehensive private general higher education institution specializing in art and media, approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, registered with the Ministry of Education, and qualified to independently issue academic diplomas, with both "art" and "media" in its name. On December 2, 2013, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education (Document No. 589 [2013] of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, "Reply of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education on Approving the Renaming of Beijing New Yuanming Vocational College"), the college was renamed Beijing Art and Media Vocational College. The school motto of the college is: "Be friends with Laozi and Zhuangzi, be friends with Confucius and Mencius, and more importantly, be friends with wisdom." The university spirit of the college is: "Selfless dedication, loyalty and patriotism, perseverance." Yang Bo, the chairman of the college, also serves as the president. Currently, more than 50 renowned artists, academicians, experts and scholars serve as consultants and academic leaders of the college. At present, the college has 4 disciplines and 19 majors. Discipline of Fine Arts: 3 majors including Fine Arts (Traditional Chinese Painting Direction), Art Education (Calligraphy Direction), and Cultural Relics Restoration and Protection (Painting and Calligraphy Appreciation Direction); Discipline of Performance: 4 majors including Dance Performance, Music Performance, Drama and Film Performance, and Musical Theatre Performance; Discipline of Design: 7 majors including Art Design, Advertising Design and Production, Animation Production Technology, Clothing and Apparel Design, Digital Media Art Design, Convention and Exhibition Planning and Management, and Exhibition Art Design; Discipline of Media: 4 majors including News Editing and Production, Film and Television Directing, Online News and Communication, and Broadcasting and Hosting. The college is located in Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Haidian District, Beijing, covering an area of more than 200 mu with a building area of about 50,000 square meters. It is adjacent to the National AAAA Scenic Area - Beijing Fenghuangling Natural Scenic Area, surrounded by flowers and trees with fresh air, making it an ideal place for studying. The college's educational philosophy is "Governing education with virtue, and educating people as the foundation".
