About the University

Baise University (BU) is a university approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Founded in 1938, BU has had eighty-four years of unremitting educational history. The university covers an area of 1833.22 mu, including Donghe and Chengbi campuses. Besides, a new campus will be built in Baidong district, covering an area of 2512 mu. Presently, it boasts 21 schools offering 57 undergraduate specialties and 25 junior college (vocational) specialties, which cover 10 main disciplines such as Economics, Law, Education, Literature, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, Art and Historiography. A coordinated development of multidisciplinary specialty structure, which is built on humanities and social sciences professional cluster and oriented with industrial service discipline cluster, has been formed. There are 1641 faculty and staff members and 24,311 full-time students from more than 20 provinces (autonomous region or municipality) now.

In 2002, BU had the qualification to recruit international students, and the recruitment of undergraduate started in 2014. Currently, there are more than 40 international students coming from Thailand, Laos,  Vietnam, Cambodia, Cameroon, Ghana, Ethiopia and so on.

Situated in the conjunction area of Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi, Baise  boasts the emerging industrial city, the “Golden Corridor” that connect south-west China to the pacific, and the origin of Buluotuo, the cultural ancestor of Zhuang ethnics. Located in the downtown area of Baise city, BU, the only comprehensive public university in the city, has convenient transportation, shopping and health care facilities. Baise is an excellent tourism city in China for its long history, magnificent landscape, colorful ethnic customs, and abundant tourism and cultural resources.

Advantages

The International Education College was established in August 2014. It is a foreign-related college established by Baise University to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative and strengthen foreign exchanges and cooperation. The main responsibilities and tasks are: responsible for the school's foreign affairs; responsible for the enrollment, teaching and daily management of foreign students; responsible for the management of foreign cooperative education projects, and provide services for the various departments and teachers and students of the school to carry out foreign exchanges and cooperation activities.

The school has successively signed cooperative education agreements with more than 20 universities in the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, and nearly 50 primary and secondary schools or government departments in Thailand, and selected teachers and students to study and exchange in contracted universities or primary and secondary schools in the aforementioned countries. Among them, INTI International University of Malaysia, Northern University of Malaysia, Uttaradit University of Thailand, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University of Thailand, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University of Thailand and other universities recognize the credits of our school's corresponding majors, forming a relatively good credit mutual recognition mechanism and Cooperation and exchange mechanism. The school has dispatched nearly 600 Vietnamese, Thai, English, tourism management, international economics and trade, engineering management, facility agricultural science and engineering and other majors to exchange studies or participate in various subjects in relevant universities in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries. In the competition, nearly 500 students majoring in Chinese International Education, Thai Language, and English were sent to Thai primary and secondary schools to carry out Chinese teaching internship activities and cultural exchange activities, and nearly 70 teachers and student volunteers were sent to the United States, Thailand, the Philippines, Mongolia and other countries. Germany’s Stein Bynes University, Thailand’s Bangkok University, Ru Nuo University, Uttaradit Royal University and other universities, Vietnam’s Hanoi National University Interdisciplinary College and many other universities and colleges, Thailand Surat Thani Province, Saraburi Province, Government delegations from Chumphon and Ratchaburi provinces visited the school to carry out exchange activities; the establishment of the Baise Academy of China-the "Chinese Language and Culture Center" in Krabi, Thailand, and the "Baise Academy-Malaysian Higher Education Cooperation to jointly build a talent training base". Has organized a delegation to participate in the 8th ASEAN Guangxi International Education Exhibition, organized teacher delegations to the United States, France, Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and other countries to conduct educational inspections and exchanges. Since 2015, it has launched a joint MBA program and a teacher’s master and doctoral study program with Thailand’s Zhengda School of Management. Since 2019, it has launched a joint training program for master’s students with Bangkok University in Thailand. In recent years, about 50 teachers have gone to foreign universities to study and study for master's and doctoral degrees every year.

The school vigorously develops the education of international students in China. It is based on the philosophy of “recruit a student, make a friend, and bring out a talent”, based on language teaching, focusing on professional courses, relying on Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, and meeting the needs of the country. Guided by social needs, supported by discipline construction and faculty construction, we will vigorously recruit foreign students, especially actively recruiting international students from ASEAN countries, and strive to cultivate compound, applied and international talents to promote the development of China and ASEAN countries. Friendly cooperation. The college has been recruiting foreign students since 2014. The college attaches great importance to daily standard management, quality training, and strengthening of humanistic services. It has formulated various reward systems and actively carried out second-class activities to enrich the extracurricular life of international students. There are currently more than 100 students from Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and other countries.
