About the University

Beijing Professional Business Institute (BEIJING PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS INSTITUTE) is located in Liangxiang University Town, Beijing. It is a private regular higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, with the qualification to independently issue higher education diplomas. The institute has been consecutively recognized as an Excellent Private Higher Education Institution in China and an Advanced Private Higher Education School in Beijing.

The predecessor of the institute was the Chinese Social University, founded in March 1982, the first private university established after China's reform and opening up. In December 2002, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Government, it became a higher vocational college offering academic programs and was renamed Beijing Professional Business Institute. On November 18, 2005, the Red Cross Society of Beijing Professional Business Institute was established. In 2009, the institute set up the "Yu Lulin Scholarship." On September 12, 2018, the institute established an Inspection Office, operating a dual function alongside the Supervision Office. On July 5, 2024, the institute established the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

As of June 2025, the institute covers an area of 105,692 square meters with a building area of 50,632 square meters. It comprises three departments, two divisions, and one center, offering 10 higher vocational programs. The staff includes 153 full-time and part-time teachers, with nearly 3,000 students enrolled. As of July 2024, the institute's library holds nearly 240,000 printed books.
