BEIJING INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT is a full-time public higher institute institute approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education and supervised by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.

The school's history can be traced back to the Beijing Economic Commission Staff Education Teacher Training School, which was established in 1979, and was renamed Beijing Economic Management Cadre institute in 1984. In 2003, Hebei Far East institute and Technical institute (formerly North China Petroleum Staff institute) was transferred to Beijing Economic Management Cadre institute. In the same year, the former State Economic and Trade Commission established Beijing Management institute in Beijing Economic Management Cadre institute. In 2006, the school changed its name to BEIJING INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT. In October 2012, the affiliation of the school was transferred from the Municipal SASAC to the Municipal Education Commission.

The institute has two campuses in Wangjing, Beijing and Gu 'an, Hebei Province, covering a total area of 1287 mu. It has 8 secondary schools and teaching institutions, including School of Economics and Management, School of Digital Finance, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Foreign Language and Preschool Education, School of Pearl and Art Design, School of Basic Education, School of Marxism and Training. There are 531 faculty members. There are 290 full-time teachers, including 135 with senior professional and technical positions, accounting for 46.6%. There are nearly 20 of them, including Beijing Great Wall Scholars, Beijing Excellent Teachers, Beijing High innovation famous teachers, and famous teaching teachers. International cooperation project

In 1999, it signed a cooperation agreement with French IGS Education Group to hold a credit course of "Chinese Business and Culture".

In 2002, it cooperated with Liverpool JOHN MOORES institute in the United Kingdom to offer diploma education.

In 2003, in cooperation with the Central Language Institute of Thailand, the "China-Asean Free Trade Area Research Institute" was established, with two campuses in Beijing and Bangkok to conduct high-end business training, creating a first for Beijing vocational colleges to establish branch institutes abroad.

In 2005, a cooperation and exchange agreement was signed with South Korea's Southeast Health institute.

In 2006, it became a sister institute with Daejin institute of Korea.

In 2007, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the record of the Ministry of Education, it launched a Sino-foreign cooperative education project with Liverpool JOHN MOORES institute in the United Kingdom.

In 2009, he and Bellevue College of the United States jointly launched a study abroad cooperation project.

In 2018, it signed a cooperation agreement with the National Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education (NCEE China) to establish "Beijing-London Business institute" in London, UK.
