Anyang Institute of Technology is located in Anyang City, Henan Province, a famous historical and cultural city and one of the eight ancient capitals of China. Anyang is located at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces. It is bordered by the Taihang Mountains to the west, the fertile fields to the east, the River and Luo Rivers to the south and the capital region to the north. It enjoys convenient transportation. The Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway and the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway run through it from north to south, while the Changsha-Yanzhou Railway and the Nanning-Changsha Expressway span it from east to west. Anyang is the birthplace of oracle bone script, the origin of the I Ching, and the hometown of Yue Fei. It is also home to Cao Cao's mausoleum, the artificial river Hongqi Canal, and the National Museum of Chinese Characters, boasting a profound cultural heritage.

Anyang Institute of Technology was founded in 1983. In 2004, it was upgraded to a public full-time regular undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial-level exemplary applied technology type undergraduate college in Henan Province and a key project construction unit for master's degree awarding in Henan Province. In 2013, it passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching work qualification assessment with excellent results.

The school covers an area of over 1,500 mu, with a building area of approximately 650,000 square meters. Currently, there are about 24,000 students on campus, among whom 174 are postgraduate students (jointly trained). It has 21 teaching colleges and departments, and offers 59 majors for enrollment, covering 8 disciplines including engineering, science, agriculture, management, economics, literature, law, and art. A discipline and major system with engineering as the main focus, integrating science and engineering, and featuring the cross-integration of multiple disciplines has basically taken shape. In 2021, it was admitted to the first batch of undergraduate programs in Henan Province. The school currently has over 1,600 staff members, among whom 448 hold senior professional titles, 1,235 have doctoral or master's degrees, and more than 80 are senior talents such as experts enjoying special government allowances from The State Council, provincial experts under management, provincial academic and technical leaders, and provincial outstanding talents in scientific and technological innovation. The total value of teaching and research equipment in the school is approximately 540 million yuan. The library houses over 2.0348 million volumes of paper books, 1.5165 million volumes of electronic books, 510 kinds of paper periodicals and 236,000 volumes of electronic periodicals.

Continue to strengthen professional construction. We have always regarded the cultivation of undergraduate talents as the central work of the school, strengthened the connotation, quality and characteristic development of specialties, and continuously improved the level and quality of talent cultivation. It has established professional clusters such as aviation, advanced equipment manufacturing, civil engineering and architecture, chemistry and chemical engineering, electronic and electrical engineering and information technology, biological food and agricultural products, and applied liberal arts. It has 210 national and provincial undergraduate teaching projects, including 2 national first-class undergraduate major construction points and 2 national first-class undergraduate courses. One major has passed the engineering education professional accreditation of the Ministry of Education. There are 60 provincial-level teaching platforms, including modern industry colleges, characteristic industry colleges, demonstration colleges for industry-education integration, and provincial-level off-campus practical education bases for college students. In the past three years, students from our school have won 14 international awards, 708 national awards and 2,157 provincial awards in various science and technology innovation activities and competitions.

It attaches great importance to building the educational characteristics of aviation and low-altitude economy, and is the ninth university in China and the first in Henan Province to cultivate civil aviation pilots. It offers aviation-related majors such as flight technology, aircraft manufacturing engineering, and intelligent transportation. In the fields of transportation and electronic information engineering, there are eight aviation-related professional directions, including flight dispatch, airport operation and management, and avionics. It has established a CCAR-147 aircraft maintenance training institution and examination site with independent qualifications, and has set up 30 teaching and research platforms such as the "International Joint Laboratory of Human-Machine-Environment and Emergency Management of Henan Province" and the "Smart Civil Aviation Characteristic Industry College". It also possesses 7 training aircraft including the B737-300 and the Xiaoying 500 trainer aircraft. There are 30 training rooms built, including civil aviation CBT, land-air communication, flight simulation, etc. Strengthen cooperation among government, industry, academia and research institutions, and collaborate with 15 organizations including the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China, Kunming Airlines, Zhongyuan Longhao Airlines and the American Aeronautique Association (ASA) to cultivate aviation talents.

Steadily promote the construction of disciplines. At present, there are five provincial key disciplines, namely "Electronic Information", "Mechanical Engineering", "Materials and Chemical Engineering", "Biology and Medicine", and "Transportation". It has established 27 provincial and ministerial-level research platforms, including provincial key laboratories, Zhongyuan Scholars' workstations, provincial postdoctoral innovation practice bases, provincial intellectual property operation and management centers, and provincial university science and technology parks. In recent years, it has undertaken over 30 national-level projects and more than 210 provincial and ministerial-level projects, won over 20 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievement awards including the Science and Technology Progress Award of Henan Province, and the annual research funds have reached nearly 120 million yuan.

We are making efforts to build a distinctive cultural education system. The campus environment is beautiful, with lush flowers and trees, green grass and pleasant scenery. Elements of excellent traditional Chinese culture and campus culture can be seen everywhere, such as the Rising Sun Garden paved with the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, the Exploration Square expanded with the electronic yin-Yang collision as the core, the Five Elements Gate sculpture with the elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth, and the Hundred Family Surnames Cultural wall written in oracle bone script. Integrate traditional culture with campus culture. A cultural exhibition hall has been established, and the "Anyang Culture Enters Campus" project has been actively implemented. It has been approved as one of the first batch of key construction projects for characteristic brands of campus culture in colleges and universities in Henan Province, and has won the title of "Outstanding Brand of Ideological and Political Education Work in Colleges and Universities in Henan Province". A series of elective courses on Anyang culture have been offered, and the profound history and regional characteristic culture of Anyang have been integrated into campus construction. The school is a provincial-level civilized unit and a provincial-level garden unit, and is currently striving to become a provincial-level model civilized campus.

It has established friendly cooperative relations with over 60 foreign universities and research institutions. It has jointly launched three Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate education programs with Teesside University in the UK and others. It has also jointly established a non-independent legal entity Sino-foreign cooperative education institution with Moscow State Civil Aviation Technical University in Russia - Anyang Institute of Technology Moscow Aviation Technology Institute.
