Ankang Vocational Technical College
Ankang Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, filed by the Ministry of Education, and run by the People's Government of Ankang City.
The college's educational history can be traced back to Guannan Academy in 1905. Ankang's first red revolutionary organization, "Xing'an Normal School Party Branch", was born in the former Ankang Normal School. The college was established in 2004 through the merger of Ankang Normal School, Ankang Health School, and Ankang No. 2 Normal School. Ankang Health School was founded in 1960, and Ankang No. 2 Normal School was founded in 1985. In 2016, a substantive integration of 8 municipal-level vocational education institutions directly under the city was carried out, including Ankang Technician College, Ankang Technical School, Ankang Branch of Shaanxi Radio and Television University, Ankang Industrial School, Ankang Vocational Secondary Professional School, Ankang Military Transfer Training Center, Ankang Supply and Marketing Training School, and Ankang Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School, realizing centralized and unified education. After more than a hundred years of inheritance, it has developed into a modern higher vocational college with comprehensive functions that integrates higher and secondary vocational education, combines full-time and part-time education, and balances academic education and social training.
The college is located in Hanbin District and Ankang National High-tech Zone, in the hinterland of the Qinling and Bashan Mountains and on the banks of the Han River. The campus covers an area of 720 mu, with a school building area of 315,000 square meters. The campus is shaded by green trees and filled with the fragrance of flowers and the songs of birds. It is a national digital campus pilot school, a provincial high-level professional group construction school, as well as a provincial safe campus, civilized campus, and smart campus. The teaching buildings, training buildings, library, and academic lecture hall are beautifully constructed and arranged in an orderly manner. The gymnasium is standardized and has complete functions. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 131 million yuan, with 304 on-campus professional training rooms, more than 300 off-campus practice bases, over 3,000 computers for teaching use, and a collection of more than 500,000 books.
