Anhui Academy of Arts is a regular undergraduate university that mainly cultivates applied art talents that meet the development needs of emerging industries in the region. The school adheres to the talent cultivation concept of student-centered and application-oriented, based on the talent cultivation model of ability orientation, literacy based, personality development, and cooperative cultivation, focusing on cultivating high-quality, strong, skilled, and applied talents. The disciplinary and professional positioning is centered around the discipline of art, actively developing disciplines and majors related to the cultural and media industries. The school adheres to the positioning of local, application-oriented, and distinctive development, continuously improves the basic educational indicators and the quality of undergraduate majors, strives to meet the national standards by 2025, and smoothly passes the qualification evaluation of newly established undergraduate colleges, making our school stand out among universities in the province and similar colleges nationwide.

The infrastructure is constantly improving. The campus planning and architecture of the school are designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University, reflecting Huizhou elements and architectural style. The first phase of the project has a construction area of 208700 square meters and has been completed and gradually put into use. It includes theaters, concert halls, art galleries, master studios, as well as professional teaching venues for drama, dance, music, art, design, broadcasting and hosting, film and television production, etc. Some teaching venues and functional facilities have reached the first-class level in China. The planned construction area for the second phase of the project is 115000 square meters, including student dormitory building group D, sports hall, and entertainment center. At present, two undergraduate dormitories in Group D of student dormitories have been put into use. The construction of sports arenas and entertainment centers is actively progressing.

The collection of books and database resources is abundant. There are currently 310000 paper books, equipped with a modern business management system and computer network service system, sharing electronic resources such as Anhui Provincial University Digital Library. Database resources such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Chinese Journal, Chaoxing Reading Show Knowledge Base, Chaoxing Mobile Library, and Designer Home Digital Library have been opened.

The construction of disciplines and majors is steadily advancing. As of now, the school has been approved to offer 19 undergraduate majors, including music performance, performance, broadcasting and hosting art, and painting. The majors that showcase Anhui's local cultural characteristics, such as performance (Huangmei Opera direction), Chinese painting, and intangible cultural heritage protection, have filled the gap in professional settings in Anhui Province; The Broadcasting and Hosting Art major has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, and the Music Performance, Performance and Painting major has been approved as a provincial-level first-class major construction site; Music and Dance Studies have been selected as a major provincial discipline construction project and approved as a first-class discipline at the provincial level; Music performance and performance (Huangmei Opera direction) are listed as provincial-level professional structure optimization and transformation projects, digital media art is listed as a provincial-level comprehensive reform pilot major, and music performance is also listed as a provincial-level characteristic major. Through the application, selection, and construction activities of "One Academy, One Specialty" and "One Academy, One Product", four majors including dance performance were awarded the title of college level characteristic majors, and six teaching activities including "An Yi You Xi" were awarded the title of college level brand teaching activities.

Education and teaching management are gradually becoming standardized. Adhere to full process management and formulate and improve over 40 teaching management systems. The school leaders open the door every week to listen and watch classes, hold academic seminars on teaching, and carry out the "Young Teacher Teaching Basic Skills Competition". Strengthen teaching supervision and quality monitoring, promote the construction of provincial-level teaching quality engineering projects, optimize teaching content, and innovate teaching methods. 74 provincial and school level high-quality (first-class) courses have been completed, 29 school level curriculum teaching reform and practical projects have been approved, and 190 provincial-level quality projects have been approved. 12 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, including 1 special prize and 3 first prizes.

The scientific research platform (base) is gradually being established. The school currently has two dedicated research institutions and 11 research platforms. Anhui Music Culture Research and Inheritance Center has been approved as a key research base for humanities and social sciences in provincial universities. The school has been selected as a participating institution in the 2024-2025 China Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor Training Program, as well as a provincial-level Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Base (Chaohu Folk Song, Pinewood Horn, Flower Drum Lantern). The research platform mainly focuses on the creation of Huizhou studies, the Xin'an School of Painting, calligraphy, ancient poetry, intangible cultural heritage, documentaries, and other fields. The school has won 2 National Social Science Fund projects, 6 National Arts Fund projects, 6 Humanities and Social Science Research projects of the Ministry of Education, 1 Social Science Research project of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, 204 provincial-level scientific research projects, and 37 horizontal scientific research projects.

The highlights of artistic creation are diverse. Anhui Academy of Art's "Huangmei Opera Youth Performance Talent Training" won the National Art Fund's 2024 funding project; The oil painting "Warm Sun in Winter" was selected for the 3rd China Freehand Oil Painting Biennale held by the China Artists Association; The Huangmei Opera "The Legend of the White Snake: Broken Bridge" won the Excellent Drama Award at the 8th China Campus Drama Festival; The micro films "Legend of Fireworks" and "Mist" won the first prize in the Anhui Provincial Micro Film Competition; Successfully hosted the 2023 Golden Bell Award Anhui Division competition.

Open education continues to expand. We have promoted Sino foreign cooperative education projects and have collaborated with several renowned art universities, including the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music in Russia, the Italian Fashion Institute, and the Oberlin College in the United States. Successfully completed the 8th China Russia Youth Forum of the Provincial Government and received a letter of commendation from the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office. Undertake the 27th National Provincial (Regional) Comprehensive Art College Exchange and Cooperation Conference, exchange students with Inner Mongolia Art College, cooperate with Feidong County on the "Opera on Campus" project, and organize "Literary Light Cavalry" to enter the campus, community, and enterprise. Carry out the "double training and double delivery" activity to serve the people of Jinzhai Old District. The school has signed strategic cooperation agreements with a number of enterprises and institutions such as Anhui Radio and Television Station, established practical training bases, and carried out school enterprise cooperation, school government cooperation, resource sharing, and collaborative education with Anhui Performing Arts Group, Anhui Radio and Television Media Industry Group, Anhui Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Anhui Art Museum, Yuexi County Government, Feidong County Party Committee Propaganda Department, and local governments. The enrollment of senior universities is hot, and the construction of standardization, standardization, specialization, and branding is constantly strengthening. Continuing education for academic qualifications is steadily improving, and the diversified talent cultivation model guided by artistic creation is constantly innovating.

The talent structure is gradually optimizing. The school implements the strategy of strengthening the school with talents, launching a series of measures such as the "Double Hundred" talent plan, the annual high-level talent introduction plan, the Youth Doctoral Project, and the Famous Silver Age Project. Through internal training and external recruitment, a large number of talents have been gathered, with a more diverse learning source structure. The introduced professors and PhDs have studied in well-known domestic and foreign universities, and have multiple national scientific research projects and artistic achievements. There are currently 233 full-time teachers (including 6 specially hired) in the school, including 28 with senior professional titles, 122 with deputy senior or above professional titles, and 54% of teachers with deputy senior or above professional titles; There are 38 PhDs, 27 are currently pursuing PhDs, and 215 teachers with a master's degree or above, accounting for 95%; 26 talents at or above the provincial level, including special allowances from the State Council, provincial government subsidies, provincial-level academic and technical leaders, Jianghuai cultural masters, provincial-level high-end talents, and provincial-level teaching masters, have been granted. The academic and professional title structure of the teaching staff has been significantly optimized.
