Anhui Technical College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ATCMEE, in short), located in Wuhu, is directly affiliated to the Education Department of Anhui Provincial Government. It is also known as one of the National Key Colleges and the A-level candidate college of “Plan for the Construction of High-level Vocational Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics”.

ATCMEE, as one of the first schools to be engaged in vocational education, its origin can be traced back to 1935 when it was founded as Wuhu Saint Aloysius School. ATCMEE covers an area of 75.12 acres. Currently, there are about 11,000 full time students on campus. Our college has a professional and experienced teaching team with over 590 full-time and part-time teachers, 90% of whom have both professional knowledge and practical experience.

Focusing on the mechanical and electronic industry, ATCMEE offers a range of 45 specialties. Up to now, besides 2 specialties being supported by Ministry of Finance, 1 specialty was selected in the “Plan for the Construction of High-level Vocational Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics”, 8 specialties as the key specialties of state level, and 14 specialties as provincial-level characteristic specialties.

TCMEE perseveres with the connotative development strategy and strives to cultivate a vocational education brand of its own. Students of ATCMEE have been very competitive in many ways and have won over 500 prizes in various professional contests at both of provincial and national levels, like National Skills Contest for Vocational Colleges, National Numeric Control Contest, etc.

Avantages

ATCMEE has established relationships with various colleges abroad such as Melbourn Polytechnic, Waikato Institute of Technology,  St.Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology, Dresden University of Cooperative Education, American  Shoreline Community College,   Korea University of Technology and Education, and Singapore Nanyang Polytechnic. Over 100 originaltextbooks were imported and integrated into the teaching practice. Over 125 teachers and administrators have been sent to these colleges for academic exchange and over 150 foreign teachers have been invited to ATCMEE for academic exchange and guest teaching. Besides, cooperationbetween Taiwan , Hong Kong and Macao has also been strengthened in recent years. 26 students have been selected to Chaoyang University of Technology, I-Shou University and St. John’s University respectively for a 5-month short term academic exchange. The joint-programs of Mechanical Technician, Welding and Fabricating Technician and Computer Networking and Technical Support between ATCMEE and St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, were officially approved by the Education Department of Anhui Provincial Government in June 2015. The Sino-canadian joint programs have cultivated a group of 155 students. And the joint program between ATCMEE and Melbourn Polytechnic, Australia, was officially appoved by the Education Department of Anhui Provincial Government in November 2020, which is scheduled to welcome the first group of students in Sempter 2021.  ATCMEE has also been actively invovled in international student education and the first group of Cambodian students joined ATCMEE in June 2019
