Anhui Jianzhu University
Founded in 1958, Anhui Jianzhu University (abbreviated as AHJZU) is a multi-disciplinary university featured in civil engineering. AHJZU is a university jointly established by Anhui Province and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, an excellent university for the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education, a doctoral degree awarding unit, a university implementing the national Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, a national demonstration unit of economical public institutions, a national advanced unit for social practice of college students, a provincial advanced unit for intellectual work, a provincial excellent teaching management team, a provincial advanced unit for career guidance, a pacesetter unit of career guidance, an provincial advanced unit for university logistics, and a civilized unit in Anhui Province.
There are 13 colleges and 64 undergraduate majors in the school, covering seven major disciplines of engineering, management, science, art, literature, law and economics. There are more than 16,800 full-time undergraduates and over 2,400 graduate students. There are 1,247 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 1,141 with master's degree or above, 44 with doctoral supervisors and 768 with master's supervisors.
There is 1 postdoctoral research station, 1 first-level discipline doctoral degree program, 12 first-level disciplines master's degree programs, 14 professional degree program categories, 8 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial peak disciplines, 2 peak-nurturing disciplines, with engineering disciplines and chemistry disciplines into the top 1% of ESI global rankings. AHJZU has 1 national engineering laboratory, 13 provincial key laboratories, 33 national and provincial engineering (technology) research centers, 4 provincial international technical cooperation base and 2 college think tanks. More than 1.8 million paper books, 0.23 million electronic books and 10 million copies of academic dissertations are now available in the library.
AHJZU is active in developing international cooperation and academic exchange and has established a close relationship with over 20 universities in the United States, Germany, UK, Russia, Belarus, Korea and Chinese Taiwan. We have achieved huge progress in joint student-teacher cultivation, academic exchange and scientific and research cooperation among teachers, sino-foreign cooperation in running schools and other aspects. AHJZU is the sino-foreign cooperation school running unit recognized by the Ministry of Education.
