Jilin Vocational College of Industry and Technology is the only independent vocational and technical college in Jilin Province, which is characterized by petroleum and chemical industry and training of highly skilled personnel. It is sponsored by Jilin Provincial People's Government and supervised by Jilin Provincial Department of Education, and is the third batch of national model higher vocational colleges.

I. History of collegeing

Since its establishment in 1950, the college was renamed Jilin Chemical Industry college in 1953 and moved to Jilin City, the capital of Jilin Province at that time, in January 1954. In July 1963, due to the adjustment of personnel and specialties, the college was renamed as Jilin Chemical Industry college. in February 1973, the college was renamed as Jilin Petroleum Chemical college to meet the needs of Jilin Oilfield Development and Construction. in August 1978, the college was listed as a national key chemical college by the Ministry of Chemical Industry and renamed as Jilin Chemical college. In January 2002, Jilin Provincial People's Government officially approved the upgrading of the college to an ordinary higher education college, and the current name of the college is Jilin Vocational College of Industry and Technology.

Location

The college is located in Fengman District, the main campus is located at No.15, Hengshan West Road, Fengman District, Jilin City, and there are three other teaching locations, which are located at No.70, Yishan Road, Fengman District, Jilin City, No.66, Ji Feng East Road, High-tech District, Jilin City, and No.86, Shenzhen Street, Fengman District, Jilin City. The college covers an area of 492600.11 square meters, with a construction area of 182605 square meters. The new campus covers an area of 700,000 square meters, with a planned construction area of 251,000 square meters.

IV. Teaching Construction

(I) Institutional Setting

The teaching units of the university are set up as follows: College of Chemical Engineering, College of Intelligent Manufacturing, College of Information Engineering, College of Pharmaceutical Engineering, College of Safety Engineering (preparation), College of Economics, Management and Arts, College of Marxism, Center for Liberal Studies, and Department of Physical Education and Teaching.

(II) Professional Construction

The college has 4 national model majors, 2 national backbone majors recognized by the Action Plan for Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education (2015-2018) of the Ministry of Education, 1 national pilot program of modern apprenticeship system, and 1 national model course of Civic Science. There are 2 provincial demonstration majors, 5 provincial pilot majors, 3 provincial brand specialty groups, 9 provincial project construction high-level majors (groups), 3 provincial modern apprenticeship pilot majors, 22 1+X certificate pilot majors, and 1 Sino-foreign cooperative study program.
